gogmagog: The Fourth Doctor from <i>Doctor Who</i> (Needlessly peppy)

Well, last night a friend of my stepdad's was in town, so we went to Taj Mahal, a restaurant right over by our house that has really good Indian food. It was the first time I was there - my parents really like it, but they didn't really start going in earnest until I left for England. While over there, I tried chicken curry, and liked it, so I figured I'd give Taj Mahal a try. And it was really good - I also tried chai tea (which is nice and cinnamon-y, really good) and this mango shake-type thing that was also quite tasty.

In other news, Disgaea is still pwning me like a redheaded stepchild. The amount of time I've put in on that game is staggering. I haven't been this caught up in a game in ages. And my mom's even started to pay attention and be somewhat interested in the story...maybe I'll be able to get her into RPGs yet. I'm partway through Chapter Seven - Laharl's just become Overlord, and is trying to round up Aramis' pet zombies. At the moment, I've just finished his second transmigration and am trying to get him back up to a decent level. He's built like a brick house now, though. Go Laharl!

There's only one thing I'm not satisfied with in the game: I wanna know what Laharl was doing in those incriminating pictures! It was even able to shock Flonne, so it can't be something like hugging bunnies or something. But she and Etna were laughing, so it can't be anything too bad, just embarrassing. I thought it might be one of those "naked baby on a rug" pictures all of our parents have in their album, but Etna and Flonne say that they didn't think he was "into that," so it must be somethiing he was doing. Any thoughts? Me, I'm about ready to believe they were incriminating pictures of Laharl and Mid-Boss. ^_^

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance...well, it's still really fun, but it's distinctly inferior to its predecessor, in my opinion. The gameplay, while still insanely addictive, is...I don't want to say it's simplistic, because it's not really, but for some reason it doesn't feel quite as deep as the original. (Though actually, looking at it impartially, it's probably more so, due to the separate races each having different class sets, and having the abilities learned by equipment so that rare ones can be hard to find.) And the story is nowhere near as good, of course, but I was expecting that. At least it got a decent translation this time, but still...when you see returning characters like Ritz or Mewt, you should be "OMG d00d it's Ritz/Mewt!" But instead I find myself thinking, "...ehhh, it's Ritz," or "Mewt. Whoopee. And his loser dad, too." I'm not sure if it's the script, or what, but still...the only character I at all like is Montblanc the Moogle.

For some reason, I'm toying with the idea of starting another blog. (Probably because I have LJ invite codes up the wazoo.) Maybe a ficblog? I'm not sure what other kind of blog I could do, anyway, unless I decide to do an in-character humor blog like [livejournal.com profile] thefirstevil. Also, I need to get some sort of decent site up for the Shin Megami Tensei TCG, and update the Persona World Guidance Project. (Though the computer with that last on it is in dire need of a new power supply, which I won't get till around Christmastime.)

It's hard to believe that my five-day weekend is almost over. Nooooo... And I just realized I missed Tru Calling this week, too. AUGH. (Angel didn't air on Wednesday; the WB preempted it and Smallville to show Josie and the Pussycats instead.)

Taj Mahal is one of my favorite restaurants in KC. I like their chicken karahi.

What kind of project are you doing for the Shin Megami Tensei TCG?

Basically a translation of all the cards, plus rules to play. Ideally, somehow there would be a program allowing people to play it against each other online, in English, but at this point I'm just trying to get everything translated.

So far the only ones I have completely (well, almost completely) translated are the Male Partner List (http://j.students.umkc.edu/jpr4c7/partnerlm.html) and Female Partner List (http://j.students.umkc.edu/jpr4c7/partnerlf.html), but I'm most of the way done with one page's worth of Special Abilities and I'm partway through the Law-Light demons.

Oh, so you have the cards, then?

No, actually I've been working from several card databases online (specifically DEMONISH and Heaven's Gate). I've only recently even managed to find someplace that I think will import them - next month, when I have a little more money, I plan to see if they'll import some for me.
