I have a definite fondness for any kind of catchy synth music, which I tend to think of as "Mega Man music" after the videogame series of the same name, which was known for its TOTALLY SUPER AWESOME AND CATCHY MUSIC.

I mention this in part because one of my favorite of Lily Allen's songs from her new album ("Back to the Start") I think I really like mostly because of the Mega Man-ness of the opening:

Last night we were playing Mega Man 9 on the Wii over at a friend's house. The BF and one of our friends played more recent incarnations of Mega Man (X and beyond) whereas I cut my teeth on Mega Man 2, 3, and 4 and never played any since then. This made me superior to them at Mega Man 9, since I had never experienced any of the super flashy upgrades...the slide was news to me from WAY back in the day!

I am listening to the music from these and fondly reliving my childhood days in which my brother and I LOVED the Mega Man music so much, we used to record it from the TV on a hand-held tape recorder and then listen to it on the tape player in the car. (This must have made my parents BATSHIT INSANE now that I think of it...)

Haha, yeah, I'm way more familiar with the old-school stuff; I haven't gotten very far in MM9 yet but it's super-awesome and nostalgic. And like you, I grew up on MM2/3/4; I don't even remember playing 1, but I know that 2, 3, 4 and maybe 5 I beat the fuck out of, because when I picked up MM Anniversary Collection, I zoomed through a few of those stages because I knew exactly where everything was.

What system is Anniversary Collection available for?
I know I could just google it but I'm lazy.

Basically every system of the last gen - PS2, GameCube (so you could play it on the Wii) and Xbox.

I think you need to watch pretty much everything Hyadain does.

Of course, who can resist those cute lil' britches? :3

What's really great is that these vids have spawned their own fandom - there's now a "Gay robot master" tag and comm on NicoNico and elsewhere, and a good deal of fanart and new video animation to go with it. I've made finding doujin of this a sub-goal for next Comiket, eheheh.

Still waiting for Hyadain to finish off MM2's bosses, though...

I, I might have to ask you to get double copies of those doujin for me when the time comes, because that is ADORABLE.

I wonder whether he'll do the non-robot master bosses? That damn dragon, for example (which always drove me crazy as a 8-year-old); if Hyadain did one of him pining for Mega Man I would basically die of happiness.
