I was looking at a few of my entries from a year ago, mostly to remind myself of the dates of a few upcoming birthdays and make sure I hadn't missed things. And you know, I used to be a really interesting and mildly witty blogger! (It's kind of sad that I've devolved to this, but I'm sure it'll get better once I finish comps.)
But that's one of the nice things about this blog; even just reading a couple of weeks' worth of entries reminded me of a crapload of stuff that I'd forgotten about in the interim and would have been totally lost forever otherwise.
Also, I think spring is the time every year when I start to feel like my life is starting to get better. I imagine it's part coming out of the blahness of winter and part completing school things and part that it's the time I tend to start new things, like healthier eating programs and more exercise (because of the nicer weather) and other new projects (last year it was not long after this time that I came for the walkthrough of my awesome new apartment, for example).
Anyway! Since no one replied to this meme the first time around last year, I figure I'd bring it out of cold storage and try it again:
Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it.
Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on yaoi, favorite type of underwear, writing techniques, etc.

Date: 2009-03-21 02:54 pm (UTC)What kind of driver are you? Aggressive, passive? Do you take try to take shortcuts when you see traffic? If you don't drive very much, what is your preferred method of transportation?

Date: 2009-03-21 10:49 pm (UTC)For the record, I've failed my driving test four times so far. I think I'm actually not a bad driver, if a bit overly cautious and never having been formally taught in driver's ed or anything; I just learned from my mom (never having gone to high school and all). But I think said failures were in part due to my own nervousness, in part due to occasional freakishly bad weather conditions, and in part due to the occasional asshole examiner.
So I get around Iowa City mostly by walking and city bus; I do prefer walking when it's not like a billion degrees below zero out, as while it takes longer it is better exercise and I enjoy just walking and listening to my iPod. When I go out of town I generally take the Greyhound bus, although sometimes when I'm coming back from a visit home my parents or my older brother will drive me up.

Date: 2009-03-22 04:52 am (UTC)So what games are you currently playing?

Date: 2009-03-22 05:34 am (UTC)Nevertheless, I've survived Kansas City rush hour and most of the drive from KC to IC on highways (with my mom in the car, obviously), so I can't be THAT crap of a driver.
And in terms of actually currently playing, this week I played some Chrono Trigger for the DS, some Star Ocean: Second Evolution, and some Star Ocean: The Last Hope (I'm a big tri-Ace h0, clearly). In terms of a larger idea of "currently playing" - i.e., games I'm in the middle of and intend to get back to as soon as this work period of hell is over - Persona 4's on the list as well.
