Why did I not discover Tom Baker Says earlier in life? Oh well, at least it has filled a gaping void in my soul that I didn't realize existed, but that could only be filled by hearing Tom Baker's dulcet tones saying various movie quotes, dirty talk and cheesy songs. XD
Also, as a break from work this evening I watched The Three Doctors, which as expected was awesome; Patrick Troughton is basically my favorite Doctor ever, and is made from awesome despite most of his episodes no longer surviving, and Jon Pertwee's moving on up the ranks the more I see of him. And of course it was nice to see William Hartnell in it too, though he was clearly frail and not up to much. I'd never seen Jo Grant before, but I quite liked her; she's sharp and loyal, if occasionally with a bit TOO much romantic tension with the Doctor, and managed to mostly keep the two Doctors in check AND to offer the key to defeating Omega (well, the first of several). Then the Brig is of course the Brig, and Benton is Benton. Overall quite enjoyable.
But almost more than the story itself, I enjoyed the extras on the disc. Watching Jon Pertwee show up in the Whomobile (oh, Pertwee, you and your desire to be James Bond) was kind of awesome, especially because he was met in the Blue Peter studio by Peter Purves (a.k.a. the First Doctor's companion Steven, with longer hair and some shockingly hideous red bellbottoms). I'm assuming this is the BP episode from which they got that footage of the first regeneration that still remains?
Another totally awesome extra was the footage from Panopticon '93, several years before Jon Pertwee died. Basically Pertwee, Katy Manning (Jo) and Nicholas Courtney (the Brig) are all adorable, and have a nice rapport. I kind of love how Pertwee and Manning called Courtney "the Brig" even when they were talking about him and not his character. I also loved Manning's story of the one row she had with Pertwee, and her bringing members of the audience up to admonish. Pertwee talking about Roger Delgado was really sad, though, as was (though to a much lesser extent) the story about Manning going to the pub once with Courtney, since he was sad that no one ever went with him to the pub for lunch. :(
