gogmagog: The Fourth Doctor from Doctor Who (Peekaboo!)

OH GOD MY EYES

In less horrible YouTube linkage, here's a link to a really pretty cello-and-piano rendition of the source song that I actually like better than the original version.

...in other news, I don't really have enough to say about this week's ep of Doctor Who to merit a full-fledged reviews, so just a few thoughts:

- Goddamn, but they enjoy dressing Donna in tops that emphasize her rack. The TARDIS has not seen such boobage since the days of Peri Brown.
- Donna dissing the TARDIS was cute and kind of awesome, especially when Ten gets that "oh, WOT" look on his face.
- HOLY SHIT IT'S PERCY
- I really like how Donna's sheer humanity is being emphasized this season, and the way it makes the Doctor seem more alien by comparison. Similarly, I liked the parallel in that both Donna and Rose asked about the Ood's slavery, whereas the Doctor didn't really think to wonder whether they were happy being a servant class.
- David Tennant's hair really does make him look like a cockatoo. XD
- DEATH BY GIANT BRAIN, YESSSSS
- ...can they turn Percy into an Ood? I'm not sure I approve!
- And of course, the ominous prophecy at the end. What do they mean, that the Doctor's song will end? Regeneration? His song of loneliness ending by regaining Gallifrey/Rose/whoever you want him to get back? (Personally, I'm rooting for Jamie.) Or is the DoctorDonna song the one that will end, presumably with Donna's possible death? All I have to say is that Donna had BETTER not join the Katarina/Sara Kingdom/Adric/Astrid club, otherwise I'mma have to fly to England and rip Russell T. a new one.

Finally, have clips of Daniel Radcliffe's appearance on Extras. This makes me like him, actually, and I hope he has a long successful career after Harry Potter just because he seems nice and willing to make fun of himself. ("I've done it with a girl, intercourse-wise." OH DANRAD.)

It's also interesting to me that they mentioned the bees again. The bit at the end was a bit freaky, I'm wondering about that also. I also can't help to think at some point we will see the Ood again but this time they are trying to take over the galaxy, don't ask me why that's just how I feel this is going for some reason.

Also on another note, for the first two episodes I could visit the UK site and watch all the videos but the actual episode and Doctor Who Confidential, but now I can't watch any of the videos. Is it just me?

No, someone was just posting to the [livejournal.com profile] doctorwho community saying the same thing. I guess they're either having some kind of problems or they've stealthily shut out non-UK users. D:

And I also wonder about the bees...how is that going to tie in to the larger plots? Maybe we'll find out next week with Martha and the Sontarans?

Well, the one trailer did have a giant flying bee in it. Maybe the bees swarmed and joined up to make up one giant bee? LOL...ok not really.

I heard one of the episodes was going to be about Agatha Christie, I can't wait for that one.

I'm a little said about the website it was nice getting to watch all those videos. Now I must youtube more David Tennant! Maybe I can find more videos with him in his undies!

I think that's actually a wasp (which doesn't mean it's not related though), just because the Agatha Christie episode is called "The Unicorn and the Wasp" and Donna looks to be wearing 20s-ish clothes in that bit.

I'm also really stoked about the Christie ep! Especially since it sounds like they're going to be tying in her mysterious disappearance for a week in the late 20s. :D

That is sad! You clearly do need to YouTube more Ten-inch! I can highly recommend the Friday Night Project episodes with him as guest host, if you haven't seen them already. One was a full year ago, right when Martha was starting, the other was just before this season started. (The first one is especially quality, since it involves Ten-inch in drag AND SOMEHOW HE KNOWS HOW TO WEAR HEELS TO BEST SHOW OFF HIS LEGS, WTF.)

Also if you like Captain Jack, then check out the FNP with John Barrowman as guest host, and also the Never Mind the Buzzcocks ep with him (which is worth it just for the Sound of Music parody involving a dildo and yodeling, lol).
