Mentally filling the space already

Well, I got approved for my apartment! I need to call the rental place tomorrow to arrange a time that I can go in and sign a lease. I'm so excited! :D :D :D
For
iowayehudit's benefit, it's apartment 9, I believe (at least that's the one I asked for).
...my first reaction should not be "whee, now I can buy more books," should it? D:
Also I think I may have kind of sort of joined the Mac brigade. D:
See, my desktop computer has been running increasingly slow, even after defragging and uninstalling software and cleaning registry...it's just old and not meant for newfangled innovations like tabbed browsing (especially because I tend to have like 18 tabs open at any given time). And my current laptop is no faster - and hence if I want to do things like run memory-hog software like Photoshop or Flash, especially if I need to run them simultaneously, it's not much better. So I'm basically replacing both my desktop and my laptop with a MacBook Pro, because I've really been liking the Macs I use at the Speaking Center and I've been doing a lot of reading as to what they can and can't do, strengths and weaknesses, etc.
...Did I mention I really like the Macs I've been using? They're just so friendly and integrated and they can run Windows as well as Mac OS X now too and they lend themselves much better to personification than PCs.
However, I am going to greatly endeavor to attempt to not be the kind of crazy Mac person who runs around brandishing an iPhone and telling anyone who will listen (and anyone who won't, for that matter) that Steve Jobs' latest sekrit projekt will cure cancer, make toast and clear up that nasty STD. And if I do start proselytizing, feel free to bitchslap me upside the head. XD;
Finally, The Onion presents the Nietzschean Diet: Beyond Food and Evil. XD

Date: 2008-04-17 03:32 am (UTC)My lease should start, I imagine, on August 1st...I'm going to see whether I can move in a day earlier, or if not then check with my current landlord to see if I can move later, just so I have at least 1 day of crossover that I can use for an actual moving day. (As opposed to having to move all my stuff...somewhere...on the 31st and then move it from said somewhere to the new place on the 1st, which could get problematic.)
And thanks! I imagine I'll need all the moving help I can get. XD
