Of all the random calls from my parents I've ever received - and I've received a lot - the most random is probably the one I just had from my mom.

(J is me, M is my mom.)

J: Hello?
M: Hi sweetie! I have a question.
J: Yeah?
M: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...who is Splinter?
J: ...um, okay, he's the Turtles' mentor.
M: I see.
J: He's a martial artist who got turned into a giant rat by toxic ooze.
M: Ahahaha, I'm a rat...
J: ?
M: Okay, that's all I wanted to know. Talk to you Sunday!
J: ...bye?

I don't think we've had this conversation before but clearly we should have! Also, I love that you went for the Professor rather than Laurie (the fact that I had to wiki for his name probably means I need to reread it; the last time I read I was 5 and cried when Beth died, and I haven't been able to bring myself to reread it since).

And who wouldn't pick Maxwell Smart in the end? After all, he had a fricking SHOE PHONE. End of discussion!
