Man, I just heard about the Ward Parkway shootings from peskyelf's LJ (her mom was in the Target at the time). I've checked in with my parents, and they're okay. (They would have been at the mall walking at the time except that a friend of theirs had just told them about a CD he'd done, which they immediately went out to buy on Southwest Boulevard, so by the time they got there it was all over and shut down.) Are all my other KC peeps okay?

We were driving home from brunch on the Plaza and we saw some people standing around in the parking lot and a cop car driving that way with his lights on. Chris says, "Ha ha. Maybe someone got shot!" (Kidding?) We found out later that someone had! -jmw

I'm okay -- I'd just gotten home and was eating dinner when nnaylime called me and went "How close are you to Ward Parkway?" *facepalm*

We're okay! We were at Zona Rosa at the time, trying to get my wedding band (which is turning into a nightmare, but more on that later). It is really freaky to know that we very well COULD have been there though since we go to that target practically every other week.
