Welp, I'm back in KC.
Anyway, this first week back has been kind of hectic. I got in at almost midnight on Sunday, so Monday I took my mom out to Jack Stack for a belated Mother's Day lunch; in the afternoon, she took me to the library to get a crapload of books for my seminar paper and then we rented a movie and had a quiet family night in. Tuesday I went to dinner with
rathershady and
courters28, both of whom it was awesome to see again. Wednesday I went to Stumpy's with both of them again as well as with Jill and Victoria from the Women's Center, then spent a few hours at Mike's (the dive bar near the university) with Jill, Victoria, Sarah (the new domestic violence coordinator at the WC) and some of their respective significant others/family/friends. Thursday I went in to campus in the afternoon and hit University House, the WC and the library to say hi to some folks. Friday I went with my parents to a poetry reading that my mom was reading at (that went on forever D:). And yesterday we went down to Topeka for my cousin Andrew's graduation from high school. Phew, I hope that all my time in KC isn't this busy! XD
Anyway, I haven't gotten my learner's permit renewed, because my parents' car has been having some troubles and they didn't want to drive me out to Raytown to renew until they were sure it was going to be okay (especially after the Great Coolant Disaster of Summer 2005, which was also en route to Raytown). They got an OK to drive to Topeka on Friday afternoon, so it probably would have been okay, but now it's going in first thing Monday morning and won't be done probably till Tuesday afternoon. So it's looking like I'll renew it on Wednesday, which gives me very little time to practice and take my exam. ;_;
But my parents are planning on taking me back up to Iowa anyway, because they knew whether I got my license or not I wouldn't have the highway driving experience to go to Iowa by myself at the end of this three week period. So that's good.
Let's see, what else...oh yeah, I got my grades in. Pretty much what I was expecting. However, I did get an A+ in my calligraphy class (I didn't think they even gave those in college) and an A- in Shakespeare class (which, wtf), which balanced out to the two A's I was expecting in those classes. So I guess it's okay, though I'm still sore about that A-. >_<
Also, from
jokersama: apparently deities are using MySpace now. XDDDDD

Date: 2006-05-22 04:38 pm (UTC)I know! I thought I was one of the more vocal folks in class, and I did well on my papers (and I felt pretty confident about my last one), but whatever. Meh.
And re: Puritanism...ouch, that sucks! I don't understand why he gave you a B-plus, it sounds like you did everything you needed to to get an A. If he had problems, he should have mentioned them when you gave your presentation back in, what was it, April?
