I got the most ginormous book from the library the other day. It's a facsimile of the Ellesmere manuscript of the Canterbury Tales (I'm thinking of copying the first page for my calligraphy final project). I admit, after this year I now understand why certain RPG characters use books as weapons. For example, the other day in Special Collections I was copying stuff out of this bigass Italian missal which seriously, if you hit with it at the right angle could easily break someone's neck. :D

yoshitsune: I swear to god, one of these days I'm going to write the mystery series I've been threatening to for years: bi shakespeare (hey, he DID write all those love sonnets to a beautiful boy) who is lovers with christopher marlowe, and they write plays by day and solve murders by night.

- Toxoplasmosis can cause mental changes in humans. I definitely agree that perhaps we should be investigating this a little more...it's kinda scary, actually, that we know so little about it, especially given how widespread it is.

Edit: I have a PSA for folks with hands-free cellphone headsets who walk around loudly talking on them: HAY GUYS! It doesn't make you look cool, or even like a hip young professional, it just makes you look like a schizophrenic homeless guy talking to the voices in his head. (Especially since, as a college student, you're probably dressing more like the homeless guy than the trendy professional.)
