BEST LJ ICON EVAR HO HO HO
...I am sadly obsessed with the song I am currently listening to. It's just a fabulously rocky song about, yes, rainbows in the dark. (It's all vaguely metaphorical and shit.) Though it doesn't surprise me at all that Tenacious D did a tribute song to Dio (a.k.a. Ronnie James Dio), because they seem to have seriously patterned their sound, at least in some songs, very consciously after his. XD
...hey, it's only a tangential reference to JoJo! That's pretty good, isn't it?
Also, I heard from my mom today that apparently my cousin Rachelle's new baby son, Jaden, was born with some kind of birth defect. The MRI shows that apparently his brain is asymmetrical; there's a large mass on the left side, and it's causing him to have seizures. They're trying to get them under control with medication, but it hasn't quite taken yet. D:
Anyway, I had promised myself I wouldn't post about JoJo, but because I don't have much else to write about and because I've been meaning to do this for a while, have some picspam! I'm a relatively active "artist" on a JoJo-related oekaki board. (I use the term "artist" loosely, especially compared to my awesome fellow contributors.) Here are some of my more recent pictures, none of which are hugely good but which are better than the ones I'm leaving out. D:

Noriaki Kakyouin from part 3, looking vaguely pensive? Maybe? I guess? Not sure what expression I was going for, but it seems to have turned out okay. (For those who are curious, character-wise he's a dorky, crazy guy who fills the role of part 3 JoJo's questionably close best male friend.)

Jolyne Kujo, part 6 JoJo, as a kid. She's wearing her father's (Jotaro Kujo, part 3 JoJo) clothes, because "closet swap" was the theme and I thought it would be cute. Jolyne's the only female JoJo, and she's very fun to draw.
(Also, the DODODODODODO sound effect in the background is one Araki made up and uses constantly in JoJo. XD)

Fatty, a friend of Josuke (part 4 JoJo), whose brutal murder by Yoshikage Kira is the impetus for part 4's main plot to finally emerge. He gets no love generally, so I figured I'd draw him. (Snot and all.)

Yukako and Koichi, the adorably cute (and HET) couple from part 4, as Medea and Jason. Their relationship is very cute, despite (or possibly because of) the fact that it kind of unfolds like so:
Yukako: TELL ME YOU LOVE ME OR I WILL KILL YOU
Koichi: ...um, okay?
Yukako: :D :D :D
...Sadly, it seems that for a het relationship in JoJo to be convincing, it seems that one of the partners must be a serial killer or psycho of some kind. D:
Anyway, I was rereading this arc around the same time that I was reading Augusta Webster's Medea in Athens for class, and I saw similarities between Yukako and Medea. XD

Bruford the Black Knight, Dio's henchman from part 1. The first recipient of the "Anyone With a Smidgen of Good in Their Heart Will Go Gay for a JoJo" award. He attacks with his long flowing hair...like Yukako, actually! Which isn't gay at all in a psychotic Japanese schoolgirl, but kind of is in a manly 300-year-old zombie warrior. XD

Jolyne in a more peaceful moment, outside the prison where she spends most of her time. She's unraveling her finger into string - that's the power her Stand, Stone Free, gives her. (Yes, it's named after a Jimi Hendrix song.) I originally drew this to show off her honky-tonk badonkadonk (tm
shinkun) but sadly it ended up not very badonkadonky. Still, I think it's cute!

Kakyouin again, but in CLAMP style. For those of you who are unfamiliar with CLAMP's JoJo connection, all four artists in the circle are mad JoJo fans. They drew JoJo doujinshi in which Jotaro and Kakyouin fall in love, make with the sex, and then apparently have an mpreg baby (born FROM AN EGG) named Jota, who looks like Jotaro with a palette swap and suitably CLAMP-y bling (lots of crosses).
...Seriously, they're such fangirls. XD
Anyway, that makes the fact that I've drawn Noliaki in wispy-girly-uke-bishonen CLAMP style that much more disturbing. With flower petals, natch, because what's a CLAMP bishonen without a flurry of flower petals? XD
Edit: OH! MY! GOD!
...I looked in the mirror today, and saw white hairs.
DAMN YOU GRAD SCHOOL
