My eating schedule is so screwed up...I'm eating lunch and it's not yet 10 a.m. And yesterday I ate four meals because I had to eat supper at around 4:30 to get it in before my seminar, and so I got hungry again about midnight. KURSES, I need to adjust to this quickly.
I'm also feeling bleh because of finally getting a picture of how my semester is gonna be. I've spent so much on books - about $350 so far, and I'm still not done. Everyone always thinks English students will have cheaper books because they're mostly using $10 Penguin Classic editions or whatever...but what people forget is that when you have 14 of them FOR A SINGLE CLASS (for the second semester in a row!) that adds up and you end up not saving any money at all. Then I have a paper due today in my Shakespeare class - the second day (fortunately, a relatively minor paper). My American lit class seems interesting but reading-heavy (that's the 14-book class), and my seminar also seems interesting but HO SHIT SO MUCH TO DO. (Fortunately, the prof in that class was nice enough to lend us all her copies of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's "Aurora Leigh," so we don't have to buy it...yay!)
I'm trying to get all the things done that I need to get done, but still, whoo doggie. To blow off a bit of steam yesterday evening, I decided to make some soap using my new soapmaking supplies. I think it turned out pretty well - a pale lemon color, with a nice sugared vanilla and tea scent (in case my fellow BPAL hos were wondering, I used Dorian). And it wasn't hard, either (though a microwave would make it SO MUCH EASIER). Still, I think I might be hooked.
Let's Positive Linking!
- What is Silent Hill? (I love
jokersama, she always gives me the best fubar.)
- Hedgehogs are vanishing in Britain. I love the way they describe the hedgehogs, as "useful chaps to have around"...it makes them sound like Wind in the Willows characters. XD
- Rule of the Obvious for Today: Don't send live hamsters through the mail. Poor thing.
- And while we're on the subject of hamsters: Hamster and snake become best friends. SO CUTE
- FameTracker always makes me laugh. As exhibit A, witness their Fame Audit of Brad and Angelina's fetus - or as they prefer to call it, the Infangelina.
- Well, Ricky, that might be TMI, but I don't see why it should affect your humanitarian efforts. Just because you pee on other people (or yourself) in the shower doesn't mean you can't help kids!
- Check this out! (This and the one below are also from
jokersama.) I think it's a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure reference (which is a series I should probably read/see at some point). Input your target's name in the text box at the bottom, then select which method of onomatapoeic death you'd like to inflict on him or her. My personal favorite is The World (WRYYYYYYYYYYY).
- Boy has tumor removed, turns out to be dead twin's fetus. These stories always creep me out; I halfway expect to find a mini-me in my side one of these days. D:
Edit: Also, the folks behind the hilarious Suikoden IV roleplay featuring Will En Kuldes and his trusty Homeslice have now moved on to Suikoden Tactics. <3 <3 <3 <3

Date: 2006-01-20 02:19 am (UTC)You should take a granola bar or chips or something with you to eat! (Or get something from a vending machine.) You probably have a 15-minute break between classes at some point, you can wolf it down then and be good to go, even if you don't have time for even fast food.
