Finally finished Firefly in preparation for Serenity tomorrow.

...DAMMIT, KAYLEE, HE"S EITHER NOT INTERESTED OR GAY. Seriously, it gets painful watching her throw herself at Simon time after time and getting nowhere. I understand diffidence, but at this point it seems like the only way she could even get to first base with him would be to show up at his door wearing a whipped cream bikini. And even then, he'd probably be all, "aren't you cold? Let me get you a blanket!" And then he'd make some stupid comment about how she's the only woman he has a chance with, and she'd get offended. >_<

Zoe and Wash are the cutest couple ever though. They are officially my OTP with regards to this fandom.

It could have been Mal/Inara if they weren't both PIGHEADED AND STUPID BEYOND WORDS when it comes to their relationship or lack thereof.

Also, after the finale I'm totally looking forward to what they do with River in the movie. It's pretty clear that the movie centers around her in a way, and in light of her capabilities (and more apparently in reserve, as the trailers show) I'm hoping they do some interesting stuff with River.

Though, since this IS a Joss event, I'm deathly afraid he's going to kill someone. But if he does, NOT JAYNE WASH OR ZOE PLZKTHX.

...is it sad that I'm totally counting down the hours until I go see the movie tomorrow? XD

Let's see if this applies.

1) Have you ever felt you ought to CUT down on your Whedon-watching?

2) Do you get ANNOYED at criticism of your Whedon-watching?

3) Do you ever feel GUILTY about the amount of Buffy, Angel, or Firefly you watch?

4) Do you need to watch a little Buffy or Angel daily to stave off the shakes before Serenity comes out?

...I think our little Yosi has a problem, Cho.

OMG TRAITORS

B, but, I'm a social Whedon-watcher. By no means will I end up a sad, pathetic individual, giving blowjobs in back alleys so that I can afford Joss Whedon DVDs, no sirree.

...right?

There's a theater nearby here doing a midnight premiere tonight.

Would it be worth seeing the film even if I've never seen the TV series?

The short answer is yes, because the film supposedly stands alone even if you haven't seen the series. (I've read quite a few reviews by people who either hadn't seen the series or had non-Firefly fans with them, and they all seemed to enjoy the movie.)

But if you like it, you'll probably want to watch the TV series afterwards, just to get more background on the characters (because of course they can fit more characterization and the like into a 13-hour TV series than into a 2-hour movie).

Hmmm...who would I not mind dying...I guess Book. I'm rather fond of everyone else. And even Book isn't annoying or unlikable or anything, all the characters are really good.

Actually, do you think they are going to explain the whole "Book isn't really a preacher" thing? I think he's a super human killer too. :P

Well, it seemed from that one episode that he used to be some kind of bigwig with regards to the Alliance, and then there's his undoubted MAD GUN SKILLZ, so I'm thinking he used to be an Alliance General or something like that, and then went all preachy when the guilt got too bad.
