The fruits of my labours

My progress thus far on my Doctor Who scarf. It's not bad, if I do say so myself...though it's certainly not perfect, mostly because I couldn't find the exact colors I wanted from any one set of yarns, so ended up using two different varieties which turned out to have three different weights (despite all being technically sport-weight). So the red and purple are quite a bit thicker than the rest, while the green, despite being the same yarn as the brown, ash and yellow, is considerably thinner than any of them. Still, I'm hoping the raggedy edges that are a result from that will be less noticeable after the scarf has been blocked; I'm also hoping that washing it will do a bit to perhaps fluff up the thinner yarns or mat down the thicker yarns, thus making the various weights closer to each other (this may be a pipe dream though).

If you're wondering what the scarf will look like once it's done, check out the original here...notice that the bit I have corresponds with the very end of the scarf that's being pulled, and marvel at how obscenely much I have left to do on it. One foot down, only about seventeen-plus to go!

My consolation is that if it does indeed turn out awful-looking, it IS all wool, so I could just felt it to make a not-horrible-looking felted scarf and then redo it with yarn all from one line. Here's hoping I won't have to face that alternative though. D:
