gogmagog: The Fourth Doctor from Doctor Who (Comics are cool)
Apparently an effective treatment for HIV - one might even say a cure - has been discovered. (From [livejournal.com profile] dosetsu.) Yay! :D

Also, upon sitting down to write my "epic" Dumbledore post, I realized that it would be totally TL;DR. So, in lieu of that, have this online conversation comparing Harry Potter and the new season of Heroes:

Cut for spoilers (I guess?) about Molly's living situation in the new season )

In semi-related news, I set up TVersity on my computer so it can act as a media center and stream media to my PS3. So this morning I watched the new ep of Heroes, for the first time ever (well aside from the S1 eps I've watched on DVD) on my HDTV. And it was SWEET. Not only can I watch any video file on my computer on my PS3 - even if it's not in a PS3-supported format (ilu codecs) - but I also have access to my entire music library, which is also kinda awesome.

For those of you without the traditional "media center" systems - PS3/Xbox 360 - note that apparently this also works on the Wii, through the Wii web browser...it automatically converts music and video to Flash files that are playable in the browser itself.

As for my reactions to the Heroes ep? Spoilers, mostly for the new 'hero' introduced in this ep and for new Parkhinder developments )

Edit: Also, every time I listen to Silent Hill no Uta my brain BREAKS ALL OVER AGAIN. D: D: D:
gogmagog: The Fourth Doctor from Doctor Who (WOES I AM SO HELPLESS AND EMO)
I've been meaning to blog about this but keep forgetting, so I will do it while I'm thinking of it!

My PSP has apparently broken - it won't stay powered on for longer than like 5 minutes, which is putting a serious cramp in my Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions playing (as in, rendering it unplayable). The battery appears to charge just fine, but nevertheless this keeps happening, even with power at 100% and/or plugged in with the AC adapter. I thought it was just that the battery needed replacing, so I got a new battery when I got FFT (hadn't had much of a reason to play it for a while before that, so it wasn't a big issue till this came out), but same old problem.

For the record, I haven't dropped it, and I'm running the firmware which came with FFT (when I first got FFT home and replaced the battery for the first time it lasted for about an hour, which was long enough to update firmware and get through the first battle in Gariland). Also of course obviously it hasn't been bricked, so that's not the problem.

I haven't been able to find anything about this specific problem online; have any of y'all PSP owners on the flist had this problem? If so, were you able to fix it somehow? Because I am DETERMINED to play FFT and its snazzy new translation, especially since I have 2 5-hour bus rides (to KC and back) coming up this weekend, and while I'd rather not get a new PSP if I don't have to, I will if this one just won't work.

In related news, the TV-out on the new PSP models looks SWEET. >_>
