Welp, reading Shelley's "The Cenci" for tomorrow. Incest and patricide, yay! And our Chaucer reading for tomorrow is the Prioress' Tale, which is an anti-Semitic story about how the evil Jews are killing saintly little Christian babies. I'm gonna try to avoid using the phrase "Baby, the other white meat" in class, but I think it may be a losing struggle.

...Honestly, sometimes I think I went into English lit solely for the fubar. XD

In fact, y'know, I just realized...Gurindher Chadha and Keira Knightley worked together in Bend It Like Beckham, and then they both did film adaptations of Pride and Prejudice. Huh.

ARGH.

See, I'd finally settled on a specific paper topic for my Chaucer paper, and was working on my abstract for tomorrow. During this process I was looking through one of the books I'd gotten from the library earlier in the week (on astrology in the Canterbury Tales) in order to see if it had anything to say with regards to what I was writing on, even tangentially related.

Of course, it turns out this guy did a detailed look at exactly what I was planning to write on (the use of astrology in order to establish temporality, or epiphrasis). In fact, a VERY detailed look at it, so detailed and thorough that there's not much I could say that he hasn't already said. All the stuff I'd thought about and planned to write about in my paper he covered in, like, three paragraphs and then went just incredibly far beyond. Urk.

This means, of course, I have to come up with another paper topic and write a several-paragraph abstract by tomorrow afternoon. PEACHY KEEN. >_<<>
