The world's smallest violin

I went and saw Smoking Kills at the UMKC Theatre Department this evening - it was actually quite good. It's about the Gulf War - it centers around two characters, a soldier (Tom) who comes back with Gulf War syndrome and an Iraqi nurse whose dead husband keeps telling her to kill Tom. Sadly, the nurse is the most sane and together character in the play. It's actually much better than it sounds - I was expecting it to be a depressing and pointlessly nihilistic downer, but - while it wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs - it wasn't gratuitously depressing either. The acting was quite good - many of the actors from the Moliere one-acts returned for it - and the set design was amazing. (However, I could have done without the INCREDIBLY LOUD AND EAR-CILIA-KILLING EXPLOSIONS.)
I do have to admit, though, I was startled when the lights came up at the beginning on a naked guy showering. O_o
Let's see, what else do I have to write about? Tru Calling was good as usual - last night's episode was written by Buffy scribe Jane Espenson and was up to her usual standards. It also revealed ( cut for spoiler ) Dammit, why'd they have to cancel this show? ;_;
