...Goddamit, but I'm sick of being a financial fuckup. This whole maturity thing I'm supposed to get as I get older doesn't even seem to be a work in progress in my case, more like an unfinished project that stalled due to lack of funding. >_<

My birthday started off kinda crappy - until about 2 p.m. I was in a hospital waiting room while my stepdad was having that procedure done - but after that it started to get better. This evening I went to supper at Stumpy's with my parents, [livejournal.com profile] rathershady and [livejournal.com profile] courters28, and my mom read Courtney and Vinnie's tarot cards. :D

Sadly, the folks at Stump's had no lemon cake for my birthday. ;_;

Afterwards, I went over to Vinnie's with the two of them and hung out. Among other things, we watched a couple of Firefly episodes - I've converted them both to the Gospel of Joss, and Vinnie's converted his roommate Matt. (Muahaha, the contagion obsession is spreading!)

Tonight, while working on cleaning off my old university e-mail account, I found a link to my Pitas blog I started several months before I discovered LJ. I think it lasted for all of, what, a week and a half? XD Still, it has some interesting info and some of my experiences in England. Also, I DEEPLY miss being able to have groceries delivered (for, like, $5) from Tesco directly to my flat. Someone needs to do that here in America (well, outside of NYC, where I know they already have grocery delivery).

...You know, I just realized reading that: I was nineteen for all of my year in England. And now I'm 22. It totally does not seem to be three years ago. O_o

i runno if Peapod still even exists, but they delivered stuff in Chicagoland for awhile. i thought they might've had a regional thing going too. i might also be wrong, and i know they were in some financial trouble awhile ago.

i don't think i've seen their trucks around in awhile, so maybe they don't even exist anymore. XD

I think financial trouble is a prerequisite for being born between 1982 and 1986. I don't know anyone our age that isn't either already a financial fuckup or dangerously close to being one.

Why didn't our parents teach us?!

I know how you feel about the whole three years ago thing. I was thinking the same thing about high school it's been six years but it doesn't feel like that and then I was like six years in three years longer then I was in highschool (10-12).

And I hate money, but I'm going to say that's because I don't have any. Damn school won't give me back my refund checks for my student loans....

Some grocery stores in large cities do delivery. Most of the ones around me do. Perhaps in the USA it's just a city thing? I always figured that it was because city-dwellers don't always own cars to get their loads of groceries home, whereas suburban people pretty much own cars by default.

I remember Tesco, incidentally. I think it was one of the first places I ever went when I was in the UK.

You're telling me about the progression of time, man. I can't believe I was only 21 when I went to Japan...
