OK, as promised, here's my explanation as to why I like these characters so much:
Jun Kurosu and Maya Amano (Persona) - I like to say that in personality I'm a cross between Jun and Maya. I'm very much of the "let's positive thinking" mindset, and I can be kind of scatterbrained, and I'm DEFINITELY messy, so I identify with Maya, but (though it's admittedly not apparent at first glance) there's the deranged obsessive effeminate giggling psycho side of me too, so I identify with Jun as well. Plus, of course, they're both generally just great characters. <3
Lilah Morgan and Cordelia Chase (Angel) - Seriously, they're both ball-busting, sexy, snarky, likable bitches with a heart of gold (or in Lilah's case, I guess brass). What's not to like?
Ginji Amano (GetBackers) - He's a tard and a goof, but he's badass. And loyal. And cute (Tare-Ginji!).
Quistis Trepe (Final Fantasy VIII) - To be honest, she was the only character who spouted anything resembling sense for much of the game, so I like her for that. Plus she gaveAnnoya Rinoa a long-needed bitching-out, which secured a place for Quistis in my heart forever.
Sam Gamgee (Lord of the Rings) - He's faithful, kind, true, and completely devoted. I want a Sam of my own.
Mizuiro (Bleach) - While his mackin'-on-the-older-ladies schtick is cool, it's all about The Hair. XD
Satoshi Miwa (Marmalade Boy) - He actually wasn't my favorite character when I read the manga - Ginta was - but in the anime Ginta's story is wrapped up relatively quickly and Miwa's relationship with Meiko is drawn out and much sweeter. Plus, Nachan comes off like a creepy perv (not that he didn't in the manga, having a relationship with one of his high school students, but MORE SO) and so Miwa seems better in contrast as well. Plus, when he sends her novel in to win the Asahi Prize? It's so sweet it's giving me cavities (but cavities OF LOVE!).
And just as a reminder, my favorite characters in the following fandoms still haven't been guessed correctly:
4. Threads of Fate
5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
6. Fruits Basket
7. Disgaea
9. La Pucelle
12. Gilgamesh
14. Fushigi Yuugi
15. Chrono Trigger
