Well, I've got my Columbia and Oxford applications off. Now for the University of Iowa and Cornell apps.
It looks like my parents are going to be able to refinance our house. This merits an official w00t, because it means we'll be a lot less hard up than we've been. (And I won't have to help them cover expenses, which then generally means that they have to help me cover expenses later and it just gets all bad with overdraft fees and stuff. So no more of that is good, too.)
And while on the subject of financial windfalls, I finally got my tuition reduction worked out and so I'll be getting about $2700 back in my bank account within a week or so. With which I will be VERY GOOD AND SAVE IT FOR GRAD SCHOOL. No buying of video games or anime or manga or computers (well, OK, maybe a new computer) with it. I am resolute.
Also, apropos of absolutely nothing, this song (which also happens to be the ending theme to Bleach) has really been growing on me. It's quite pretty and while slightly melancholy has kind of a happy ending. Also the associations with the anime can't hurt, because I think Kubo Tite is a mad genius. (And that's "mad" as in skillz, not as in scientist...though that too.)
Edit: OMG NO
...immediately after my resolution to be fiscally responsible, I get an e-mail from GameStop offering me free shipping for Suikoden IV, which comes out in a few days. (Dammit! I thought it was coming out in February!) So now it's a war between the newly fiscally responsible part of me and the super-mega-Suikoh0 part of me. x_x
ET TU, GAMESTOP?
