I think I need a change of scene. And by that, I mean a COMPLETE change of scene - I need to live in a different place where I know no one and start from scratch.

This is not because I don't love everyone here in KC, and it's not even that I'm particularly unhappy with my life here at the moment, but I just feel like it's kind of stifling and that I don't really feel like I really have the freedom to mature here. Over in England I was out on my own, growing and changing by leaps and bounds and really discovering who I was, and then I got back to KC and all that kind of stagnated. And, to be honest, I know I'm really immature, and I would kinda like to change that, at least to a certain extent. I mean, there are times when I hear myself say something or see myself do something and immediately think, "Oh my God, way to act/sound like an 8-year-old." I'm 21, which places me squarely at the high end of the age range among the WC student staff (which ranges from 18 to 22 or 23), and yet I feel like I'm the youngest and have the least life experience - and when even the 18-year-old and the 20-year-old are more mature than you are at 21, you know you're in trouble.

Anyway, all angsting aside, I've found a new favorite manga. Mystical Prince Yoshida-kun rocks, in an OMG CUTE AND ADORABLE way, and I command all of you with any kind of cute tolerance to go check it out. Unless you hate puppies and kittens and baby seals and go out of your way to kick or harpoon them every time you see them in the street, you'll probably like it. And Yoshida-kun ROCKS - I want to be like him when I grow up.

Anyway, here's some memes from [livejournal.com profile] umechan:

What trends do you see?

Wishlist Meme

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important
thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

OK, here's my wishlist:

1. A Nintendo DS
2. A really good version of the Christmas carol "Good King Wenceslas"
3. Any Marmalade Boy fanart AT ALL
4. A good recipe for Mexican bread/pan dulces
5. The Persona 2: Innocent Sin soundtrack
6. A copy of the discontinued free online Flash X-Men game X-Assault (I wanna see if my X-trivia is as sharp as ever)
7. A Nyarlathotep plush or a Cthulhu plush (I'm partial to Secret Agent Cthulhu)
8. Some cute Persona 2 fanart (specifically Tatsuya/Jun or Katsuya/Maya)
9. Some fubar Persona 2 fanart (I leave it up to your imagination)
10. The fourth Harry Potter movie NOW PLZKTHX, rather than next summer or whenever it comes out

Now to watch some Bleach (I finally found the first ep to download) and then some more Gilgamesh. :D

I am getting a little worried that all the people who worship at the shrine of WC are getting bummed out, you, me, courters, I think the great god F Word has let us down.

The thing is, I'm not HUGELY bummed out about it yet, but I can see myself getting there if things don't change within the next year or so. Fortunately, they should be, so I've just got to hold on for a little bit longer.

But yeah, I think we need an antidepressant salt lick behind the front desk. XD

I think it may have something to do with living at home. I know that as soon as I step foot into my mother's house I feel like I have reverted back to high school. There are different things expected of you while living at home...help out with housework, get home at a decent hour, be an overall good son/daughter...and those things pretty much contradict any adult experiences or the possibility of feeling like an adult in most cases.

Yeah, I think that is a LARGE part of it. In England, I was out from under my parents' eyes, whereas here not so much. But hey, I figure I've only gotta hold on for one more semester, and then I'll be going off to grad school somewhere else. :D

Come to Japan! :D

Going back to England did wonders for me once I'd left the American bubble of international high school, and coming to Japan has revitalised me again.

Actually, I've considered it - if the whole grad school thing doesn't work out, going abroad to teach English somewhere for a while (probably Japan) is my Plan B.

But yeah, England did the same for me. So now I want to go there, or somewhere, or anywhere but here. x_x

it looks like you like older, sexy (may or may not be bitchy) female characters? ... although not everything fits that trend. Not sure about guys - I don't know enough of them to make a guess. ^^;

Yep, that's the one trend I've been able to pick out - the sexy, snarky femme fatales who don't take shit from anyone but are really good at dishing it out. :D

The only other trends I've seen that are even possibles are the whole "spazzy but terminally honest and kinda cute" guys (Ginta, Ashton, Ginji, Daisuke) and the "dippy but caring and dammit, they have Mary Sue characteristics but they CAN'T BE because I <3 them and think they're the cutest thing since sliced bread" girls (Tohru, Orihime, Flonne).
