I woke up a little after 3 a.m. with a nightmare, and I've been up ever since. I don't remember much about it, except that involved one of the houses across the street and there was someone/something SCARY AS HELL in the house that I was trying to avoid.
It's probably better than my mom's nightmare last night, though...she dreamed that I was killed by flesh-eating zombies. But hey, at least they had good taste! Come to think of it, they probably thought the same thing about me. XD
I've still been playing La Pucelle. I'm really liking the characters especially. Prier is loudmouthed and sort of bitchy to her little brother Culotte (which at times gets on my nerves, but other times just makes me laugh). But we've seen enough vulnerability from her to know that the loudmouth thing is just an act that she's sort of grown into in order to be strong for Culotte.
Culotte, I also like. His pathetic little crush on Alouette and jealousy of Croix are great. Like Prier, he can at times be annoying, but overall I don't dislike him. He's probably my least favorite of the characters though.
Alouette is probably tied with Prier for my second favorite character. I love the way she's constantly laying the Biblical smackdown on Prier and forbidding her to say things. In fact, Prier's and Alouette's relationship is great...though I foresee them banding together against Father Salade, now that it's been revealed that he picked out their tight-fitting clothes for them. A pervy priest, who'da thunk? XD
But by far my favorite character is Croix. Now, I generally like female characters in video games more than male characters - I loved FFX-2, for example, and in Disgaea my favorite characters were Etna and Flonne - but when Croix appeared on the scene, my first thought was "Thank God, finally some testosterone in this game." (Maybe it's because of the fluffy pastel-ness of everything, though that generally doesn't bother me.) I like his budding relationship with Prier (and his relationship with Alouette), and his goofy demeanor. Well, maybe "goofy" isn't the right word - it's just that for such a badass character, half the time his character portrait has a dopey smile. I guess he just has a certain je ne sais Croix. XD
I'm looking forward to getting the next few characters. Though I have a feeling that after meeting Homard, I'm going to want to play the Marl Kingdom games. Atlus' website says Rhapsody is out of stock - does anyone know any place I can buy it, other than on eBay for $50+? (And I REFUSE to get sucked into importing the other Marl Kingdom games at the moment. Nonono...I've got enough N1 digital crack to deal with at the moment, thank you very much, especially with Phantom Brave on the horizon.)
By the way, for you Japanese speakers, how would you transliterate the name "Joseph?" Personally, I would go with ジョセフ, but I've also seen it ジョゼフ and ジョゼーフ. (I don't like ジョゼフ though...it always seems like it should be some sort of weird fighting style used by Gippal or something.)
