The Transamerica thing kind of reminds me of my university's LGBT society film week. At the start of the lesbian film night, we had quite a few guys in, but the first film we showed was The Killing of Sister George. When it became apparent it wasn't going to be all perky breasted blondes having pillow fights and exploring each other's undiscovered countries, one by one the male audience drifted away into the night. ^_^;
(I stayed, and discovered I like the anti-romantic genre. And the lesbians showed Fire afterwards.)
