If you want to know how seventh graders talk, I could give you my brother's SN. Haha. He's an eighth grader, but he hasn't been for long, ya know. Here's a good rule of thumb, if you want to pull your hair out after five minutes of talking to them, you got it right. They use a lot of weird sayings, like my brother has started saying "WTF" all the time...he actually says the letters. Also, they don't always know the correct meaning of bigger words, so they use them in a context that is sort of right, but also really wrong...this actually happens a lot, I've noticed all my brother's friends do it. For example, last year they all thought kinky meant "weird"...I told them that was not the case, but I didn't have the heart to tell them they had been talking about the snow being sexually experimental. Shorter sentences are usually better, especially when they are talking to another seventh grader, unless the characters are girls. They usually have a better grasp on vocab and sentence length.
Hmm...yeah, just ask me if you want any advice or want me to read some dialogue and see if it sounds right. I am an expert on seventh graders since I have two brothers that age and there are always tons of them over visiting my brother. :)
