Wow, it's been a while since I last posted. No, my ghost didn't eat me...I've just been alternately too lazy to post and too busy to post (funny how that works). Haven't done much aside from working on comps reading lists for various professors, doing miscellaneous stuff for AGSE (picnic, helping clean up the lounge for the renovations this summer), and random computer game stuff. Oh, and I've been watching a lot of movies.
What have I been watching? Well, I went to go see Iron Man last week, which was pretty awesome, as expected, and generally perfectly cast and very well-done. If this is an example of what Marvel's house studio can turn out, I'm glad they've created it and look forward to what else they do. (Though oddly, I found myself much more squeeful about the initial mention of SHIELD than the post-credits bit that made all the other fanboys cream their pants.)
My friend Stephanie also showed me the two High School Musical films, which I have to admit to my eternal chagrin that I really liked. They're a little cheesy, sure, but I mean they're MUSICALS...they're meant to be! And I certainly don't find them any more inane really than, say, Grease (though the music tends to be a little more MOR-pop than Grease's).
Given that all I knew about the HSM cast before this came from ONTD, though, it makes all that so much more traumatic in retrospect. Gabriella can't have nudie pics on the Net, that's just wrong! Also I find it cute that Troy and Gabriella (Zefron and Baby V) are dating in RL, even if I'm sad because Zefron seems SO GAY and will probably end up hooking up with JC Chasez and Chace Crawford for a teen idol Mickey Mouse Club threesome.
No, I'm serious, he seems SO GAY. Exhibit A, which is just unfortunate even without his overuse of that dice-rolling dance maneuver; HSM2 in general had more unfortunate choreography for Zefron, and whoever gave him those cuffed jeans that look like capri pants in the final sequence needs to be shot.
