Well, I had to miss class today; I woke up after a bad night and not only did I sound like a frog with emphysema, but I also had that nasty seal-bark cough you can sometimes get with respiratory stuff. I e-mailed my profs and my students, and hunkered back into bed for a while, since I'd only been able to get maybe three and a half hours of solid sleep last night.
I still feel pretty crappy now, which makes me less than optimistic about tomorrow, since mornings are my worst time and I generally tend to feel better in the afternoon/evening; but I don't even really feel up to going to my evening class tonight. I've e-mailed my boss at the Speaking Center and let her know I may be out sick tomorrow (to give her a heads-up), and I'm feeling pretty iffy about even trying to make Old Norse (which IS optional, after all).
...God, I hate being sick. It seems like I've felt worse every day rather than better; I'm hoping today was the nadir and tomorrow I'll start feeling better and won't have to miss.
Tonight I am going to settle in under a blanket and watch Hot Fuzz, in the hope that laughter will indeed prove the best medicine.
