Biting the bullet
Feb. 3rd, 2008 02:15 pmOH GOD THE 90S-FEST CONTINUES
I kind of sort of may have downloaded Take That's greatest hits collection PLEASE DON'T JUDGE ME ;_;
In other news, I'm kind of fed up with how good I am at wasting time (as witness the cartoon linked in my last post, which does in fact describe my life), and feel the need to do something about it. I'd especially like to spend my leisure time more constructively - I don't mean, like, coming out of it with a novel or something, but maybe making a dent in my massive backlog of games which I own and really want to play but somehow never get around to because I'm on IRC or surfing the Net and am lazy/horrible at multitasking (take your pick).
So! In an effort to pack more fun into my leisure hours, I'm going to be pretty scarce on IRC for a while. Also, I'm gonna try to stay off my usual massive Intarwubs timewasters (
ohnotheydidnt, this means you). I am still going to be checking my flist, of course, 'cause that doesn't waste THAT much time, and I do still want to keep up with everybody. And of course for those of you who can't live without your daily dose of Yosi-chat, I'll still be on AIM.
Okay! On the cards for today are to finish my reading for my seminar tomorrow, re-watch the sample analysis speeches I'm showing my students tomorrow (I show it every semester but it's been a while so I'm fuzzy on what exactly they're about again), finish cleaning my apartment (the front room at least), and play some more Super Mario Galaxy (which is inordinately full of awesome). Also if I have time I want to get some of the numerous articles/books I have in photocopy form into EndNote, in preparation for the mammoth task of trying to copy them into PDFs and store them on my external HD (which will save room in my file cabinet LIKE WHOA).
And in completely unrelated news, this is pretty awesome - basically three guys with some props, a camera, a greenscreen and a crapload of CGI recreate D-Day for a BBC program. It does end up looking pretty awesome. :D
