Movies and memes
Jun. 2nd, 2006 12:55 amWell, I have now seen the new Pride and Prejudice film. And I think my reaction is summed up by one moment from my parents' and my viewing of the film: simultaneously we all three turned to each other and said, "Oh my God, did Bingley just grope Jane?" Seriously, what the fuck.
( More rants...er, thoughts )
In lighter news, I saw X-Men: The Last Stand last weekend with my parents and
rathershady. And holy crap, but that was not what I expected. It was good, but not at all the mildly surprising sequel I was expecting.
( cut for MAJOR MAJOR SPOILARS, don't click if you ever plan on seeing the movie )
I've actually been hanging out quite a bit recently with Vinnie and
courters28; it's fun to be able to again while I'm in KC, at least for a little while. As mentioned, I hung out with Vinnie last weekend - we went to the River Market and then joined my parents for the movie - and the three of us went to dinner with my parents at Chelly's (at 85th and Wornall) the other day, which was nice. Today the three of us went to Stumpy's for lunch, and in general hung out; Vinnie showed me a pretty fun game called HeroScape, which is complex but enjoyable (and also has nifty little pieces and tiles and stuff). :D
Let's see, what else do I need to talk about...god, it's been forever since I posted, so I'm so far behind... D:
Oh yeah! Over the Memorial Day weekend, my brother was up from Memphis, which was nice - I hadn't seen him since Christmas - and we went over to my stepmom's for a barbecue and to hang out with the Lanceinator. Then on the morning of Memorial Day itself, we ate breakfast with our stepbrother Nicholas, who's currently my brother's roommate of sorts (Bubs is planning on moving back up to KC, so he's bought a house here for when he does in a year or so; in the meantime, he's renting it out to Nicholas so he doesn't have to live at home anymore). So that was nice; it's always good to catch up on family stuff as well.
And finally, some memes:

1) Make a list of 15 characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (That way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)
2) Ask your flist to post questions in the comments.
For example:
"4, 6, 12 & 15 are starting a band together, what is their name and what kind of music do they play? Also, who's the lead singer, and what instruments do the others play?"
3) After your flist has asked enough questions, round them up and answer them using the 15 characters you selected beforehand, and then post them.
And from someone on the flist, traumatizing mpreg drabbles. My favorites are William the Bloody x Mr. Rochester, Tarzan x Keebler elf, and House x Bertie Wooster. <3 <3 <3
Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention I got my mom to read Ouran High School Host Club volumes 1-4. She acts like she didn't like it, but I caught her guffawing at a few scenes (Tamaki's Haruhi cosplay, for example). >D
