NEED CAFFEINE
Dec. 9th, 2005 10:45 pmOh God, Diet Mountain Dew tastes like antifreeze. At least it has plenty of caffeine. I'd like to find a more pleasant way of ingesting caffeine, but I hate coffee. Maybe I should try No-Doz, though that always reminds me of the infamous episode of Saved by the Bell where Jessie gets hooked on caffeine pills. XD
In another startlingly true-to-life episode, a stressed-out Jessie resorts to caffeine pill abuse in order to manage her school work and committment to the singing trio with Kelly and Lisa. Ever the concerned friend, Zack tries to convince her to stop. The thrill of the pill proves too strong, however, and it is only after an emotional breakdown ("I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so...scared!") that Jessie recognizes she has a problem.
( BPAL: Tulzscha )
Also, something that irritates me: The Escapist's article on "women in games." Specifically, they've got this guy writing about women in games, who is officially full of shit. His half-baked, rudimentary use of evolutionary psychology to make such amazingly original statements as "women want to play games featuring social reasoning" and "the ideal women's game would be an interactive bodice ripper" irritate me SO MUCH. So apparently all the female gamers on my friendslist are actually some kind of freakish unwomanly mutants or something? (Since they enjoy games like Fatal Frame, which is clearly not about maneuvering through the world using your advanced social skills, but about KILLING SOME EVIL FUCKING GHOSTS WITH YOUR CAMERA BEFORE THEY KILL YOU.) His claims aren't entirely invalid; the Sims games were massive bestsellers, and those arguably center around socialization - but they sold so well because a helluva lot of guys bought the game as well as women.

enkiae: Old Grandma Hardcore. This old biddy ROCKS. Any grandma who plays Growlanser and Fatal Frame is A-OK with me. XD
