You can't have manslaughter without laughter!

While out shopping today, I came upon a veritable plethora of Freudiana. Not only did the shop I was looking through (one of those New Age-y type gemstones and incense shops that are so prevalent in college towns) have the Sigmund Freud action figure, but they also had a Freud finger puppet/fridge magnet and a Tickle-Me-Freud, which tempted me mightily. (The maniacal "hoo-hoo-HA-HA-HA" just seemed so appropriate!)

By far the thing I covet most from there, though, is a pair of Freudian Slippers. WANT WANT WANT

...Anyway, I bit the bullet and signed up for NaNoWriMo. I figure I'll have most of my work for the semester out of the way by the end of October, and so I'll have most of November free (y'know, aside from the semi-crippling amount of reading I'll inevitably have to do). Also, I have an idea for a novel that I really like, and I figure NaNoWriMo will kick my butt into writing it and actually finishing it, maybe. XD

And, apropos of nothing, you know your music library is schizophrenic when your playlist goes from Bad Religion to BBMak. XD

- If anyone hadn't heard yet, apparently the new Bond is Layer Cake actor Daniel Craig. I haven't really seen him in anything, but Casino Royale is sounding like it maybe has the potential to be somewhat good.

...okay, maybe I just have a dirty mind, but I could SWEAR Jane Austen just made a sexual joke. Read it and tell me whether I'm on crack:

Now, I realize "rear admiral" may not have the...er, risque definition that it has now, but still...the italicization (which is Austen's, not mine), the pairing with "vices," the fact that she clearly is intending a knid of pun...either I'm just really pervy, or Jane Austen was a little less prudish than we give her credit for. XD

In other news, the great thing about being in grad school: I get to lie in bed all day reading Jane Austen and it's not only allowed, it's expected. I'm actually being virtuous in doing so. :D :D :D

(Also, in honor of the fact that the hero and heroine of the novel are first cousins, a new Gilgamesh-inspired icon!)
