When I woke up this morning, my big worry was that I'd be stuck in the house all day until my older brother came up from Memphis with my truck. Heh. Little did I know.

A little before noon, we got a call from my brother. It seems that while he was driving my truck up, its starter died. He was calling from a motel near New Florence, Missouri (near Hermann; it's between Columbia and St. Louis), which is apparently a one-~~horse~~ mechanic town, and it closed at noon. So he needed us to come pick him up.

Of course, normally we'd have just driven down to pick him up, except we still have no car either thanks to the wonderful events on Thursday. So eventually, we made a reservation for a rental car at the airport, and

courters28 were nice enough to drive us over there (which took a big chunk out of their day, and they officially ROCK) to pick it up. Then we spent the rest of the day driving to meet my brother; checking the truck to be completely certain it was just the starter (it was); and then driving back to Kansas City. (In fact, we just got in about half an hour ago.)

Tomorrow sounds equally fun - first thing in the morning, turning in our rental car and picking up my brother's; going to the auto store and getting a new starter and some other stuff for the truck; then driving back to New Florence to fix the truck on-site and hopefully get into a state where my stepdad can drive it back to KC. (Then we can get it thoroughly inspected just to be sure everything's OK.) So yet another fun day of riding all over rural Missouri. And I was worried my weekend would be boring. XD

...Welp, I'd better sign off and get some sleep before my eventful tomorrow. Hope y'all have better luck this weekend. x_x
