The lighter side

Well, yesterday's crapfest was considerably lightened, despite having to spend the evening on yet another paper for my American Lit class, when I came home to find the first Fushigi Yuugi DVD set on my doorstep. (I found it used on the Amazon.com marketplace in good condition for $55, which was pretty good...generally all you can find is the pirated Hong Kong DVDs with crappy-ass English subtitles, but this is the real Pioneer version.) While Fushigi Yuugi isn't my favorite series, it's definitely pretty high on my list, so it cheered me up to own the first half of the series.

...I've noticed, answering the phones today, that I've developed a bizarre speech habit. When people tell me "thank you," instead of saying "you're welcome" I tell them "thank you" back. O_o

You know, despite being a history major, I never realized until my American History class today that the band Franz Ferdinand - currently being pimped by, like, half my friendslist - is named after (duh!) Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austro-Hungarian Empire whose assassination sparked World War I. ...Yes, I am that stupid.
