Mildly political post

This is a really good article - and a scary one - about how Bush has been checking with ridiculous "rapture cults" of fundamentalist Christians in order to ensure that his policy on Israel/Palestine is biblically correct and likely to bring about the "end times." What next in the literal interpretation of Revelations - is he going to be sending Homeland Security agents around to nurseries to check all babies born for "666" birthmarks? (Not to mention the fact that the last I heard, attempting to force God's hand was generally frowned upon among most mainstream Christians.)

A sad note

Wow, GameFAQs' front page has a message about how Chris MacDonald (a.k.a. Kao Megura), one of the major contributors to GameFAQs over the years, died earlier this week. I remember reading his FFVII FAQ years ago and being really impressed by it. Basically, if you've ever read a fighting game or FFVII FAQ, you've probably read one of Kao Megura's. And his death is especially sad because he was so young.

On a lighter note, in this week's Ain't It Cool News anime report, this bit made me laugh out loud:

"TV anime "Agatha Christie no Meitantei Poirot to Marple" (Agatha Christie's Great Detectives Poirot and Marple) will commence broadcast on NHK on July 4th 2004 at 7.30pm." XD

Also of the good: Tru Calling has officially been renewed. I feel like doing a happy dance now.

Ha ha, I get the intelligent one (i.e., the one that SURVIVED). And hey, she survived the reign of Henry's children, the Protestant Edward and the Catholic Mary, as well - and that was no mean feat, especially considering she was favored by both. It probably helped that she was a Protestant princess, so Edward liked her, but she was nice to Mary and obligingly converted to Catholicism in her reign. w00t for pragmatists.
