Angels and insects
Feb. 12th, 2004 10:14 pmOh man, did anyone else see the pictures of Puppet Angel from next week's episode? XD
(For those who weren't fortunate enough to see the trailer, here's a picture.)
( MAJOR MAJOR Angel spoilers for episode 18+ )
BTW, I now have Buffy on Tuesday evenings again...in a matter of speaking. See, UMKC has a community outreach program called Communiversity, where people sign up to take classes just for fun that are perhaps too specialized for normal classes. I and my stepdad are enrolled in a class entitled "Reflections of Society in the Buffyverse." So basically, every Tuesday we see two episodes of Buffy (this first week, it was "Reptile Boy" and "Ted"; next week we're watching the "Surprise"/"Innocence" two-parter) and discuss the significance, subtext and all that. Fun!
I'm also working on an abstract due tomorrow for the UMKC undergraduate English conference. It'll be about the similarities between Victorian serial fiction (such as Charles Dickens, George Eliot and Wilkie Collins) and modern serialized TV programs. Here's hoping it gets accepted!
Some fun news tidbits:
- Barbie and Ken break up. Apparently she's falling for an Australian boogie boarder. Poor Ken's apparently not "edgy" enough.
- Alabama school receives cleaning fluid in milk cartons. Geez, and I thought having your mouth washed out with soap was bad.
- Conjoined tortoises "Peanut Butter" and "Jelly" separated. What's really sad is that their owners bothered to log the time each spent on his back and switched them when time was up. x_x
