Character archetypes
Mar. 1st, 2003 02:24 pmI've been going on a big nostalgia kick lately. At the moment, specifically X-Men, which I used to be a HUGE HUGE fanboy of. Now, I haven't picked up an X-Men comic in years, but I could still give you a full rundown of the "Age of Apocalypse" storyline (which was the last big storyline before I stopped reading X-Men) right off the top of my head. This is probably sad, but ANYWAY...I was thinking this morning, and noticing that the vast majority of my absolute favorite fictional characters tend to fit into a set of about three different archetypes. Now, this shouldn't be a surprise - most people do have this happen - but I was just surprised at the archetypes that are my favorite, and the fact that generally the same sort of characters were my favorite even as a kid. I think they say something weird about me, but I'm not quite sure what it is yet.
( Long ramble about character archetypes )
Whoo. That's a long entry. Also, everybody do your own version if you want. I'd be interested in hearing what kind of character archetypes y'all like. (Maybe it'll mean I've started a meme, whatever that is.)
And I was going to go take pictures of Kingston today, but it's raining. Crap. ;_;
Random note: I just realised I went past 100 entries several days ago. Yay me.
