Books and movies
Feb. 15th, 2003 06:54 pmI've noticed I'm developing a disturbing habit: I'm buying books even when I haven't finished the last batch of books I bought. I've done this three times already (not counting books for class) so my Books To Be Read list now consists of:
Great Teacher Onizuka (vol. 2), by Tohru Fujisawa
Dragon on a Pedestal, by Piers Anthony (it's all
jokersama's fault, as usual)
Brightly Burning, by Mercedes Lackey (that one's
angrybabble's fault)
Seventh Son, by Orson Scott Card
Notice how good I've gotten at shifting the blame away from myself. ^__^
Today I DID read the new issue of the official Buffy magazine as well as vol. 1 of Crayon Shin-chan. Good lord, that's a disturbed comic. If I had a four-year-old like that, I'd be in prison for infanticide. I mean, it's funny and all, but Shin-chan's poor mom and principal...good Lord.
I'm also planning to go to the cinema tonight. At the moment, though, I'm not sure what I should go see. The Ring is out in the UK now, and I really want to see it (since I saw the Japanese original), but the only showing is at 11:15 p.m. Now, I know I'll be up until 2 or 3 a.m. anyway, but still... Anyway, at this point the only other films I'd want to see are Two Weeks' Notice (which sounds fun) or Undercover Brother (which I think only just came out here in the UK).
At this point, I'm favoring Undercover Brother. So we'll see if I feel like going to it. If not, then The Ring it is...or I suppose I could see both...
