Christ, after reading more about it I am looking forward to the new Indy movie (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull).
Holy crap, I didn't realize Karen Allen (Marion Ravenswood from Raiders of the Lost Ark) is coming back to be the female lead. I saw Raiders for the first time - I think it was last year? - at![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
lordtravis and teachingmusic's, and really liked it, so I'll be glad to see Marion coming back. (And apparently John Hurt is coming back as well, presumably as her father Abner who died in Raiders?)
But that's not the only Raiders connection, apparently - they've talked about building a warehouse-type set similar to Raiders, the website shows a crate in a warehouse with a similar number to the one the Ark of the Covenant ended up in at the end of that movie, and Comic-Con had a prop Mayan pyramid had an ark on top of it. I certainly wouldn't be displeased to see the ark return, since I think it's a pretty awesome MacGuffin as MacGuffins go.
Speaking of MacGuffins, CRYSTAL SKULLS = LOVE. Maybe it's just my insane love for Persona 2: Innocent Sin, but crystal skulls in general have interested me for ages and I have several books on them. And when I saw this rumor - "The crystal skulls turn out to be alien skulls, underneath a Mayan or Aztec pyramid that takes off and thus reveals itself to be a mothership of sorts" - my reaction was OH SHIT I HOPE IT'S TRUE, INDY AND MARION FACE OFF AGAINST NYARLATHOTEP ON XIBALBA!
Really the only things I'm sad about are that other people I liked aren't returning (Sean Connery, John Rhys-Davies), as far as I know, and that they took this long to come out with it. D:
But gosh, now I kind of want to get the Young Indy TV series. D:
