Wow, this afternoon has been amazingly crappy. Between the weather (frickin' cold and rainy) and spending an hour on an assignment for my Intro to Grad Studies class (an assignment which is pointless makework, but whatever) only to have to spend another hour redoing it through no fault but my own impatience, I kinda thought my afternoon had sucked as much as it was going to.

Then, on my walk home, I was walking past one of the apartment complexes down the block and as I was walking past one of the driveways - and I was already in the middle of the driveway, mind - this bitch in a red car pulls up to the driveway and instead of waiting for me to finish crossing just bulls on through. I tried to get out of the way as fast as I could, but she stil clipped my leg (shouting at me to "get out of the damn way") and I ended up sprawling on the concrete, and by the time I could get up she was gone, so I just limped home. Now fortunately, she was going like 5 miles an hour, so I highly doubt I did anything but just wrench my knee, but still I'm all wet and a little scraped up and my knee hurts and I kinda alternately feel like crying and killing someone. (Preferably the stupid bitch in the red car who felt the need to run down a pedestrian slogging along in the cold, wet rain. Honestly, I'm hoping she blows a tire twenty minutes on and her car ends up in the fucking Iowa River.)

dude, you should have got her plates and had her ass given a ticket. My friend got hit by some asshole in a sports car coming out of a driveway once. He destroyed her bicycle and she was scraped up a bit too. People like that NEED TO BE SCHOOLED.

Oh, I completely would've except she pretty much jetted - by the time I got up she was gone, and my knee hurt so I didn't really feel up to chasing after her. x_x

Ditto to angrybabble. What a bitch, and where the f' are cops when you need them to write someone a ticket?

I got hit with a car about a year ago, but in my case the driver was hysterical. I felt really bad for her and spend more time trying to calm her down than bitching about my own injury. Of course, it helped that the only injury I sustained was a pinch when her tire rolled over the fatty outside part of my foot.
