Oh, fuck a duck. The Kansas City summer has officially started - now even a window air conditioner going at full blast isn't enough to keep you from getting hot. NOOOOOU~
...I can deal with our winters pretty well, but this heat just kicks my ass - I feel all wilted and I get pissy with everyone. And apparently things in Iowa are pretty much the same, but the winters are worse too. Joy.
While watching Keroro Gunsou today, I found myself realizing that it's only a matter of time before this gets shown on American TV. Hopefully it'll go to Adult Swim with a decent translation, but I find myself afraid it'll be snapped up by Fox Kids or something. And I don't even want to consider a world where something like that would happen. I can just picture it: Fuyuki gets a random WASPy name (like Clay or Travis), Momoka becomes Michelle (and totally talks like a valley girl, y'know?), Dororo is renamed after one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (just because), and all the bits about Moa's crush on Keroro are naturally excised (bestiality is not family-friendly). *shudder*
Anyway, since I'm just about done with all the fansubbed KeroGun, I'm currently downloading Yakitate! Japan. Because an anime about breadmaking is RIGHT. UP. MY. ALLEY.
Also, I'm nearing the end of Marmalade Boy (just three episodes left, plus the movie). I swear, it is the easiest show to marathon EVAR. Almost-incest was never so compelling. Oh, speaking of Gilgamesh, I got the new translation of the Epic of Gilgamesh from the library. I'd never actually read it before, so my expectations were pretty amorphous, but...wow, Gilgamesh and Enkidu are totally gettin' it on. XD
...Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, my graduation pictures came today. I may see about scanning one and putting it up eventually, if I can be bothered.
