Plans

Well, today was beautiful. Balmy, mild, a nice breeze - absolutely perfect weather. Which means, going by our recent track record, that Wednesday will probably be 30 degrees with a 75% chance of snow. x_x

I've planned a trip to Iowa City this weekend with my parents to visit the campus and meet with a few professors (and possibly a current grad student there). We'll be leaving on Saturday, making the 5-hour drive and staying at the Iowa House hotel on campus. (Which is a REALLY cool idea, BTW. It's actually within the Student Union, apparently, which kinda rocks. It's not that expensive either.) Then we'll spend Saturday evening and Sunday checking out Iowa City - all the shops and restaurants and apartments and all that jazz. On Monday, we'll hopefully take a campus tour and then I'll meet with the university people. At this point, it's looking like we'll have to stay over Monday night (since I'll be meeting with one of the professors too late to get back to KC before like 1 a.m.), so we'll leave Tuesday after getting together with my stepdad's friend Amy, who he hasn't seen in ages and who it'll be nice to meet. Then we'll get home and business as usual Wednesday.

In less happy plans, I have a geology test on Thursday. KURSES. >_<

After reading this thread on the Suikosource forums, I find myself wondering if perhaps the final Suikoden will not feature Hikusaak (or the Artist Eventually Known as Hikusaak) as the Tenkai Star, gathering people to him/herself as he/she overthrows the Kingdom of Aronia and founds the Holy Empire of Harmonia.

Also, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] courters28!

Go eat pizza at the Airliner. Seriously. [livejournal.com profile] angrybabble is pretty much the only person I've ever met in the history of people who've eaten there who's disliked it.

(Though the best pizza in Iowa City is from The Wedge, without a doubt...I don't think they have an actual restaurant, it's just delivery and carryout.)

Man, you're making me nostalgic for Iowa City, just a bit! ;)

I'm definitely going to have to try that, then. I'm always up for some good pizza. :D

Actually, I found the pizza to be rather mediocre. Highly edible and probably actually containing nutritional value, but mediocre in taste. HOWEVER, the Airliner's chicken poppers are very good.

The Wedge did kick ass. I miss it. Hell, I miss everything about my college life, first of all being that I actually had a life to begin with.

Yeah, but you didn't start yelling about vile demon-spawn crappy food of the devil (or somesuch) every time someone asked you to eat there. XD

Everyone says it snowed in the area last week. It's weird because the weather was nice in the days before I left for Okinawa, and absolutely beautiful today.

Damn unpredictable Kansas City weather.

I know - we had a couple of out-of-town speakers at work on Tuesday, and not long after they got in it started snowing. We had to assure them that no, this is not "normal" Kansas City weather per se, and that it wouldn't last or anything. x_x

I'm glad you had such a good time in Okinawa! Your pictures are really cool; it looks really beautiful. *is insanely jealous*
