I SWEAR TO GOD I AM GOING TO CUT SOMEONE IF THIS SHIT CONTINUES
OH MY GOD
NOTHING IN THE WORLD MAKES ME AS ANGRY AS UPS
I WANT TO HIT THINGS
...NO, SCRATCH THAT, I WANT TO HIT PEOPLE
Okay, so I recently ordered a dresser from Overstock. They sent it UPS.
Today, as I was sitting at my computer desk in my office, I heard a knock on the door. I yelled, "Coming," walked to the front door - putting jeans on along the way, as I was pantless. I reached the door approximately ten seconds after the knock, and saw a UPS notice. I RAN down the stairs to the front door, and by the time I got to it the UPS driver was pulling away.
Given the timeframe, he must have knocked AS he put up the notice, then LITERALLY RUN away, given that I SPRINTED after him once I got to the door and he still managed to get out of the door, across the small front yard of my building, and into his truck and pulling away within like fifteen seconds.
And of course they're redelivering on Monday, at a time range which I should be able to make if I try but will be REALLY FUCKING INCONVENIENT and which I will be cutting it hella close to make (and basically I will have to cancel office hours to do it), and I tried to reschedule delivery through their website but they won't let you select times, only days, which is great if you work from home or are a stay-at-home parent but if you actually have a job where you have to leave your house on weekdays, is pretty much worthless. Similarly, it is literally impossible to reach an actual person to talk to, either through their phone number or their e-mail, so I can't talk to someone.
So, in short: HAET UPS. Seriously, NOTHING makes me as livid as the sheer incompetence of their drivers and the abyss of abysmality that is their customer service, and I literally feel a PHYSICAL NEED to punch something (preferably said UPS driver, but a wall would do) except that I'm so incandescently angry that I'm afraid I would punch through whatever I hit (which would concern me, at least in the case of the wall). But I know why UPS doesn't make it possible to talk to a person through their phone service: it's because they know how shitty their service is and don't want to have to put up with all the complaints from people who are (rightfully) livid at their fucking shithole of a company.
But Monday I am going to get home by the time indicated, and I am going to literally LEAVE MY DOOR OPEN for three hours and ensure that I am sitting in the living room so that they can't say they were not able to contact me. If that doesn't do the trick, and they somehow manage to I am going to fucking HUNT DOWN whatever center my package is at, which is presumably the place that employs this driver, and I vow that I will MAKE THEIR LIVES HELL until I get my dresser (and by "get it" I mean "get it delivered," as it's in three large packages, the whole point of having furniture shipped is that it gets shipped TO MY RESIDENCE, and I will be DAMNED if I will reward the fucking steaming pile of shit that is their customer service strategy by getting someone to take me to pick it up).
