gogmagog: The Fourth Doctor from Doctor Who (Procrastination station)

more conflicted than a furry at the petting zoo

I was playing the Silent Hill songs on DDR this morning, and I decided that what Konami really needs to release next is Dance Dance Revolution: Aquilamix, featuring only the music of Akira Yamaoka. And you know how DDR Extreme lets you select characters? Well, this would let you do that too, except with slightly superdeformed versions of Harry, James, Heather, Henry, Pyramid Head, Zombie Nurse, Cybil, Maria, Walter, etc. (With secret hidden characters Dog and Alien!)

...who's with me? XD

Also, in other Konami-related news, why is Hideo Kojima so awesome? Check out the rather humorous trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4, and the even funnier sequel, Metal Gear Raiden: Snake Eraser. XD

(Also watch this parody video after the other two. It's notable for the fact that Snake makes out with another guy in it.)

(All those videos are from [livejournal.com profile] jokersama, by the way.)

And in final Konami news, I was checking out Silent Hill showtimes for tomorrow, and it looks like the matinee times are 12:45 and 3:45. I figure the 3:45 showing will work best for everyone (or maybe I'm the only person who is a complete slug on weekend mornings XD)...will that work out for you guys ([livejournal.com profile] bshippotemkin, [livejournal.com profile] teachingmusic and possibly if we can peer-pressure him into it [livejournal.com profile] lordtravis)?

4 jobs I had
1. Student assistant at the UMKC library
2. Waiter
3. Busboy (demoted from waiter)
4. Student assistant at the UMKC Women's Center

4 movies I could watch over and over
1. the A&E Pride and Prejudice
2. South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
3. the original Star Wars trilogy
4. The King and I

4 places I've lived in
1. Kansas City, MO
2. Kingston-upon-Thames, England
3. Iowa City, IA
4. Lawrence, KS (but for only like a month, so I'm not sure it counts).

4 shows I watch
1. Keroro Gunsou
2. Kamichu! (though it's now been licensed, so no more fansubs; I'll pick up watching it again when it gets released, probably, 'cause it's cute)
3. Ouran High School Host Club
4. Battlestar Galactica soon (this summer I will watch it!)

4 places I've vacationed
1. Chapel Hill, NC
2. Las Vegas
3. Mustang Island, TX
4. Oxford, England

4 foods I love
1. home-baked challah
2. pasta with cheese sauce
3. any kind of breaded chicken nuggets/tenders/strips/whateverthehellpeoplecallthem
4. candy

4 sites I visit daily
1. my LJ
2. Gmail
3. Something Positive
4. Sinfest

4 things I'll never forget.
1. My year in England
2. The Game Genie code to start with like 1000 HP in the original Final Fantasy (it was IEZGGN, for the record)
3. How to perform far too many Mortal Kombat fatalities
4. NAKED KIRA/HAYATO BATH SCENE THOUGH I WISH I COULD FORGET IT >F

4 items in my bag
1. Pen(s) (I'm assuming "backpack" counts for "bag," because I don't carry a manpurse)
2. BPAL; both imps (at the moment, Wilde, March Hare, Vicomte de Valmont, Whitechapel, Bess, Antony, and The Lion) and a bottle of Spirits of the Dead
3. stapler (STFU, it comes in handy)
4. a $1 off coupon at the Hamburg Inn No. 2

Anyway, classes are now officially over, w00t, and all my assignments are in except my seminar paper and my calligraphy final project. I hung out with [livejournal.com profile] lordtravis, [livejournal.com profile] teachingmusic, and [livejournal.com profile] bshippotemkin last night to watch Office Space (which I'd never seen before; it was v. v. amusing) and chat. (Also, there was hott hott wig action.)

I've been working on my seminar paper today, and while it's not been going HUGELY well I'm not panicking too much. (Yet.) Around the time I broke for shower and lunch anyway, I got a call from [livejournal.com profile] teachingmusic to go to lunch at McDonald's with her and one of the children she works as a nanny for, a little girl named Zeffa. (I'd met Zeffa's little brother, Harren, earlier in the week.) And wow, she is a scarily articulate and collected little girl. Still, both she and Harren are adorable. :D

Let's Positive Linking!
- Photo Retouching, for when you want your child to look like a horrific plastic Stepford version of themselves. This one and this one are especially egregious and soul-scarring.
- Live Cockroach Jewelry. For when regular jewelry isn't enough.
- King Tut's wang rediscovered! w00t for him, I guess (except I guess he doesn't care, being dead and all).
- Silence!, the musical version of Silence of the Lambs. (From [livejournal.com profile] bemysty; she has the MP3s posted.) I think my favorite song title so far - I haven't listened to them yet - is "Put the Fucking Lotion in the Basket." XD
- Also, apparently Tolstoy is not literature but Battlestar Galactica is. Now I imagine BG is much more interesting and enjoyable, but still. In fact, literature apparently only applies to Shakespeare and the 20th century. Nice to know all those medieval classes were actually pop culture classes, huh?

So they retouched the girl to look like a killer femme bot from a 60s B flick?
