Well, we've got the bitter cold too - I don't think it's much warmer here. Seriously, when I was walking to class this morning I could literally feel my mucus membranes drying and freezing as I breathed through my nose. :(

But yeah, it is easier to take when you have pretty snow (well, by now it's nasty brown snow, but still).
