Hi, I came across your journal after browsing around for Suikoden IV related entries and just thought that I'd comment. Michael Jackson shota...what will the Japanese think of next ;;; although from this man's experience teaching there, quite a lot. Michael Jackson juice could possibly be one of the most disturbing phrases ever.

I was just about to comment about the underdevelopment of characters in all the Suikoden series (although III IMO had the most), but I think a part of it for IV is that a lot of loose ends aren't quite tied up. There's small hints, but they all dead end when pursued. For example, Sigurd and Keen's relationship, Elenor's history with Cray, and so forth. Probably a setup for the Rhapsodia sequel.

Suikoden II is by far my favorite, if only for the cooking game. So many ways of awesome. I wish they'd brought that back in IV.

I thought Jowy was a more tragic figure, but I felt the most sympathy for Snowe's his bitterness and failure, which I found easier to relate to. And come on, you have to feel a little sorry for a guy with that kind of father. Hm...which reminds me, what does happen to his father after you chase him off?
