OK, I totally feel like a ridiculous BPAL glutton, since I got three months' worth of orders this a week. (Part of it was that I was gone for a month, and then I guess they cleared up their backlog over the holidays. XD) But I'm now DROWNING IN BPAL...I have to do a crapton of reviews over the weekends so that I know which ones I like. (I'm highly amused by the fact that they sent Follow Me Boy as one of my frimps. XD)

Last night I had my first History of Western Letterforms class. It seems pretty cool - mostly focused on hands-on work, exploring doing calligraphy of various hands throughout the ages - but a little more work-intensive than I was expecting for an undergrad class. Now, admittedly, it's more fun to practice calligraphy than to read yet another scholarly article, but we're doing like three pages of calligraphy homework a week, and by page I mean "no margins chock full writing a crapload of stuff." And also, because we're trying to get things right, it's taking FOREVER - I spent most of class yesterday (about two hours) drawing basic Roman letters with pencil on graph paper and didn't even finish half a page, and we have to have three pages of it (plus another full alphabet) next week. You'd be surprised how hard it is to draw decent-looking versions of the letters we write EVERY SINGLE FRICKIN' DAY. D:

Oh, also, I finally found a used couch that's pretty nice and that they'd deliver (it's even a sleeper, and in a color I like) and so I should have it tomorrow morning. :D

NYARLATHOTEP
Brooding, yet electric: the scent of buried secrets, roiling nightmares, the essence of the Crawling Chaos, the Father of Knives and Locusts, the Hunter in the Dark. This is the blackest of ritual incenses charged with flashes of ozone.
How could I resist a scent like this? XD

In the bottle: Kinda leafy?
Wet: A kind of warm, slightly smoky scent, definitely masculine. It's a relatively light scent though.
Dry: Ooh, it turns smokier, which I don't particularly like. It's still not nasty cigarette smoke, but it's not as nice as it was at first either. It's much heavier and more "MANLY MAN" now I think, which is kinda a turnoff. This is totally how I imagine Nyarlathotep (either the Lovecraft or the Persona version) would smell, though. XD
Verdict: Ehh, it's nice enough, but not for me. ;_;

THE LION
The dry, glorious warmth of the Savannah. A golden, spiced amber, proud, regal and ferocious.

In the bottle: Hard to describe, but kinda sweetish.
Wet: Sweet honey, with a bit of spice. There's also an oh-so-faint powdery undertone, but not in a bad baby-powder kind of way, which I think is the amber.
Dry: The honey scent amps up even more. Aside from that it's about the same.
Verdict: Ooh, I definitely like this one. Not sure about a bottle, but it's very nice.

GAME INVENTORY
Italics: beaten. Italics/underline: beaten multiple times.

I'm only doing RPGs, because my non-RPG collection is pretty negligible.

Playstation
1. Final Fantasy VIII
2. Final Fantasy Anthology (I've beat FF6, but not FF5 yet.)
3. Final Fantasy Chronicles (dude, Chrono Trigger is one of those games that DEMANDS replay. It pioneered the New Game+!)
4. Final Fantasy Tactics
5. Front Mission 3 (I was almost to the end in both the Alisa and Emma quests when my memory cards were stolen. AUGH.)
6. Persona
7. Persona 2: Innocent Sin (I totally need to play this again.)
8. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
9. Saga Frontier (I've beat every character's quest at some point or other)
10. Suikoden
11. Thousand Arms (I lost interest in the game halfway through because the story wasn't enough to salvage the HORRIBLE battle system. I need to replay it at some point though.)

Playstation 2
12. Dark Cloud (I just got this over the break, haven't had a chance to play it yet)
13. Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (another that demands multiple playthroughs)
14. Final Fantasy X
15. Final Fantasy X-2 (ditto with the stolen memory card thing)
16. Front Mission 4
17. Kingdom Hearts
18. La Pucelle Tactics (I'm almost to the end, I just need to finish it!)
19. Okage Shadow King
20. Phantom Brave
21. Radiata Stories
22. Romancing SaGa
23. Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga
24. Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 (working on it, I swear...)
25. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
26. Star Ocean Till the End of Time
27. Suikoden III (my disc is messed up and freezes every time I enter the Amur Plains ;_;)
28. Suikoden IV
29. Suikoden Tactics

Gamecube
30. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Wanker Waker (picked it up on a whim, haven't really played it yet)
31. Tales of Symphonia

Total Games Owned: 31
Total Beaten: 16

...ouch, that's dismal. Still, if I had my PSOne games that were stolen/that I gave to my sister, the percentages would be much higher, since those are from the days when I was able to play a lot more. x_x

Thanks for the link [livejournal.com profile] yoshitsune but I have am already about 200 comics into 1/0, and I have checked out some SinFest after I finished off the VGCats archive. I really liked VGCats and I am enjoying 1/0. I think once I read some more SinFest I will really be into it.

P.S. You totally left off FF VII from your list. I think that may actually be a cardinal sin, forgiveable only by contrition to a shrine dedicated to Sony.

But I don't own it anymore, so I can't put it on! It got stolen. ;_;

If I'd had all the games that I no longer have (Valkyrie Profile, Tactics Ogre, Chrono Cross) my percentage of games beaten would have been much higher.

And it would be a shrine to Square, not to Sony, silly Vinnie. XD

I was going to say in a middle-aged man with leather fetish and a giant phallus way, but that works too.
