Bluegrass Beowulf

Welp, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] teachingmusic's savvy connections, tomorrow I (along with [livejournal.com profile] lordtravis) am helping proctor a big engineering exam here at the UI in order to make some extra dough for my trip to Europe, which is nice. On the other hand, it means my Saturday is basically shot, as said proctoring lasts from about 7 a.m. till 6:30 p.m. Sigh...oh well, at least I'll hopefully be able to get a lot of reading done for class.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] rathershady linked me to this video of a flash mob doing a live-action Haruhi dance before being scattered by police. (Apparently the police are cracking down on the Akihabara otaku; that article mostly amuses me for its cries of "CATGIRL-LOLI-MAID OPPRESHUN!!!1!") After having now seen approximately a zillion and one live-action renditions of the Haruhi dance, I kind of think I want to learn how to do it now, despite the massive dorkiness that would be entailed. orz

Anyway, I'm just going to finish listening to "Farewell to Grendel" from the Beowulf musical, which sounds not unlike "Turkey in the Straw" but with random townspeople singing "Die Grendel, Die Grendel" very cheerily, and then to bed, since I have to be up at the buttcrack of dawn tomorrow. Night y'all.
